Choose the level of support your campaign needs.

Start with the smallest useful scope. Each service is tailored to the race and agreed before work begins.

Weather briefings

Know what is likely, what remains uncertain and what could change the race.

Live briefings led by Marcel Korte. We compare models, assess confidence and translate the developing weather picture into practical considerations for your route and start.

  • Synoptic development and model confidence
  • Routings based on your boat’s polars
  • Key transitions, local effects and race risks
  • Live calls with time for questions

Race roadbooks

Race-specific decision support designed for Mini constraints.

A practical PDF prepared before the start for use when onboard information and outside communication are limited. It turns forecast scenarios and routing output into clear, leg-by-leg cues you can refer to at sea.

  • Course, TSS and exclusion-zone overview
  • Routing scenarios based on your polars
  • Leg-by-leg wind ranges and decision points
  • Indicators to watch as conditions change

Operating principle

Analysis should end in a decision.

More forecast data does not automatically create a better plan. The value is in knowing which scenarios matter and how to recognise them.

01 / INPUT

Boat-specific

We work from your course, polars, schedule and campaign constraints, not a generic regional forecast.

02 / SCENARIOS

Uncertainty made useful

You receive the likely development, meaningful alternatives and indicators that separate them.

03 / OUTPUT

Usable under pressure

The output is structured around timing, decisions and observable cues, so it stays useful offshore.

How it works

A clear scope before any analysis begins.

  1. 01

    Brief us

Send the race, start date, boat type, available polars and the questions you need answered.

  2. 02

    Define the support

We agree deliverables, timing, update cadence and price before starting.

  3. 03

    Build the decision system

We analyse the course, weather and routing scenarios, then deliver the agreed briefings, updates or roadbook.

Who is behind the work

Built from practical offshore racing experience.

Offwatch Labs was founded by offshore navigator Joshua Weber, whose results include an IRC Overall victory in the Rolex Middle Sea Race. Joshua develops the Mini roadbooks and OWL’s navigation education.

Weather briefings and campaign routing are led by Marcel Korte. Across all three services, the standard is the same: analysis must produce a useful decision, indicator or action.
